Cloak of Spectral Wings
A midnight-black cloak woven from fine velvet, edged with silver thread that shimmers faintly like moonlight. Silvery runes spiral along its hem, and when you touch the cloak's clasp, the fabric seems to sigh. When commanded, the cloak splits into spectral wings that span behind you, like a living halo of smoke and starlight.
Lore
Legends say the cloak was woven by wind-wraiths during the Eclipse Age, to grant their favored messenger a cloak that could ride the tempests. It has passed through the hands of sky-pirates, storm rangers, and the forgotten child of a dragon, always returning to the owners who earn its trust.
History
The cloak's current name traces back to the courier Lyria Vael, who vanished while chasing a comet, leaving behind only the cloak and a set of winged tattoos. The cloak is said to be a partial soul-binding with the wind, and those who attempt to steal it find themselves blown far off course by an unseen current.
