Energy Absorption When the wielder is targeted by a spell, they can use their reaction to absorb the spell's energy, converting it into charges. If the spell is of 3rd level or lower, the rod gains 1 charge. If the spell is of 4th to 6th level, it gains 2 charges. If the spell is of 7th level or higher, it gains 3 charges.

Arcane Redirect The rod has 7 charges. As an action, the wielder can expend up to 3 charges to cast the absorbed spell immediately, as though they were the original caster. The spell's level must correspond to the number of charges spent (1 charge for a 1st level spell, 2 for a 2nd level spell, and so on). The DC for spells cast in this way is equal to the original casting DC.

Lore

Forged by the legendary archmage Valthor during the great spell wars, the Rod of Arcane Reflection was designed as a defense mechanism against foes who wielded destructive magic.
