requires attunement by a druid or ranger
versatile (1d8)
Charges: 7 (regains at dawn)

This staff is carved from ancient petrified treant wood, its surface intricately engraved with swirling leaf patterns and adorned with small, shimmering emeralds that resemble dew drops. The staff's head is shaped like a blossoming flower, radiating a faint green glow when wielded by a nature attuned individual.

Verdant Command The staff allows the wielder to cast the 'Entangle' spell without expending a spell slot or material components. Once used, this ability cannot be used again until the next dawn.
Nature's Bond While wielding this staff, you have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened by plant creatures.
Awakened Roots As an action, you can expend 1 charge to animate a Medium or smaller plant within 30 feet of you for 1 minute. The plant acts on your initiative and can use the 'Shillelagh' spell for its attacks.

Lore

Forged in the heart of an ancient forest, this staff is said to echo the whispers of the forest guardians. Legends say it was once wielded by a powerful druid who could command the will of the very trees, ensuring the balance between nature and civilization was upheld.

History

The Staff of Verdant Control was created by the druid Eldara Oakheart, who merged her essence with that of a slain treant. Over centuries, the staff changed hands from one protector of the forest to another, each adding to its lore, until it was last seen during a great battle against a corrupting blight that threatened the realm.
