Lore & Description
Appearance
A floating, bell-shaped jellyfish aberration drifts through shadowed caverns. Its translucent, lavender-bioluminescent flesh billows like a tattered veil, and long, whip-like tentacles trail behind it, ending in faint, glowing stingers that hum with silent music. Its core pulses with a pale memory-blue light, as memories from those nearby wisp away into its memory-siphoning aura. The creature seems to feed on recollections, not health, leaving its victims forgetful and hollow-eyed as it drifts on.
Behavior & Origins
The Memoryweaver is born from the remnants of ancient mind-tethers and the ambient memories of countless drowned travelers. It drifts through ruin-strewn abysses, siphoning memories rather than health to sustain its glimmering, jelly-like form. It preys on dreamers, scholars, and investigators, leaving behind exhausted, forgetful survivors who stumble away with a vague sense of loss, as if a chapter of their life had been erased. DMs may use the Memoryweaver to sow paranoia: its victims cannot recall why they came, who the creature is, or where the path home lies.
