Lore & Description
Appearance
A patchwork of weather-beaten sacks and dry straw forms a towering scarecrow-like figure. Its body is a tangled mass of cornstalks and stitched clothes, with a hollow, stitched face and tattered robes that flap even without wind. Long, spindly limbs made of dried stalks lash out with surprising speed. The field-born guardian leaves trampled earth and bits of straw in its wake, as if farmhands had awakened to march in a single, sentient thresher.
Behavior & Origins
In the heart of a cornfield lies a sentient field that defends its harvest with a coordinated, singular will. The Field Harvester is a living ecosystem turned weapon: individual scarecrows fuse into one consciousness, moving and striking as a single organism. Fire unsettles its straw-stitched form, and intruders who threaten the land find themselves met with a relentless, ceaseless barrage of blades of corn and dry husk. To defeat it, one must break the fieldโs connection to the land or find a way to outlast its regenerative pace.
