Lore & Description
Appearance
A corpse stitched with living shadow, its form a tangle of dark fabric and sinew. The shadow clings to the body like a writhing, inky cloak, and seams along ribs and skull glow faintly with violet-black light. The stitched corpse moves with a lurching, unsettling gait as if the shadow is dragging the body forward. Where the patchwork is torn, wisps of darkness spill out and vanish when caught by torchlight. The creature exudes a chill that dampens warmth and makes observers uneasy, as though the dead itself has learned to breathe again through a shadowy mouth stitched shut by dark thread.
Behavior & Origins
Born from a desperate necromancer's bargain with a sleeping shadow, the Stitchshadow is a corpse fused with a living shade that no longer fits its original shell. The binding was meant to anchor a restless entity, but the shade proved too greedy to be controlled. Now the stitched form drifts and lurches through ruins and alleyways, craving fear and the life energy of the living to sustain the patchwork of night that holds it together. Legends say the seam along the chest and shoulder occasionally weeps a drop of black ink when the creature lies to a victim, as if the cloth of night itself is thirsty for falsehood.
