Lore & Description

Appearance

A colossal undead titan, its form is a living heartbeat of bone. Its entire frame is a labyrinth of ribs, femurs, and spun bone corridors that twist and re-knit themselves with each tread. The surface of its bones resembles ash-white ivory, etched with dark mineral veins that glow faintly when it shifts the maze. Gaps in its skull resemble archways, and the inner cavities glow with an eerie green light where the marrow would be. When it moves, the corridors behind it sigh like a shipโ€™s hull, and the sound of distant chains echoes through the bone-work as if other souls are trapped within.

Behavior & Origins

Born from a necromancer's failed attempt to bind a cityโ€™s memory to a single body, the Labyrinth Colossus is a walking maze of bone that feeds on fear and confusion. It does not simply kill; it ensnares. Those who wander into its bone-woven corridors must navigate shifting walls, alarms carved into the bone, and echoes of past victims. The Colossus is drawn to catacombs and ancient crypts, where the bones of long-dead races curl into ever-changing paths. It seeks to trap intruders not just by brute force but by starving them of direction, leaving them to wander until they forget their own purpose or starve of hope. Adventurers who defeat it often recover their bearings only after days of being lost in the mazeโ€™s echoing corridors.
