Lore & Description
Appearance
A creeping, translucent mass of pale blue ice and ooze coils along the ground. Its surface gleams like frost at sunrise, and it oozes with a patient, predatory grace. When it moves, it shifts unseen shadows and leaves a cold mist in its wake. The slime's core seems to pulse with a slow, patient hunger for warmth, which it lures toward with glints of light and a deceptive stillness.
Behavior & Origins
Ice Ambush Slimes haunt frozen corridors, glacier caves, and snowfields where travelers are most likely to be lulled into complacency. They prefer to strike from hiding, pressing a victim into a narrow crevasse or a frost-choked passage where their slime-body can constrict, crush, and drain warmth. Fire drives them back, but fire rarely eliminates them; they reform as the ice re-freezes. They are often found near eldersโ camps or ruins imbued with long-forgotten, frost-etched runes that inadvertendly draw them to the surface.
